3. 3) You must be currently living in Canada and will need to show proof of your status when the time comes.
4. 4) Now, let’s talk about income. To qualify, you must show enough income to support your sponsored family. If you’re married or in a common-law relationship, you can include your partner’s income, too.
5. 5) Lastly, you’ll need to sign an undertaking. This means you promise to financially support your sponsored family members for 20 years (or 10 years if you’re in Quebec) from the day they become permanent residents. If applicable, you’ll also have to repay any social assistance benefits they receive during this time.
